GENERAL DESCRIPTION - NEW CONNELL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The project involves the construction of a new, 66,095 square foot (plus equipment lofts) two-story, steel framed, elementary school in Connell, Washington, for North Franklin School District No. 51.  The building site is approximately 22.20 acres in size with approximately 13.40 acres scheduled to be developed.  In addition to work within the site, project work will include improvements on an adjacent City street.  The preliminary base bid cost estimate for the project is $11,900,000.00 - $12,026,000.00, not including Washington State Sales Tax. 

The project is scheduled for final completion in early August 2011. 

The project is being constructed under the State Superintendant of Public Instruction mandated, Washington Sustainable Schools Protocol (WSSP).  This program establishes varying sets of criteria for high performance school construction. Additionally, the Owner has contracted with Construction Services Group from Educational Services District 112 located in Pasco, Washington, to provide construction management and commissioning services on the project.
